Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team who shocked the whole league last season. Because two seasons ago they won only 23 games that season, then the Thunder make a huge come back season winning 50 games and making the playoffs for the first time ever. Kevin Durant the all star had a amazing season winning the scoring title with the most points in a single season he scored 2,432 points averging 29.6 points a game. He is the youngest player to ever win the scoring title in NBA history. Russel Westbrook the superstar point gaurd for the Thunder has made a huge improvment in his game last season to help Durant and Thunder to the playoffs, but they ended up loosing to the Lakers in the first round 4 games to 2. Westbrook last season averaged 21 points a game. Now this seaon the Thunder look to make it to the playoffs for the second straight season but they are gonna the the help of Jeff Green who is averging 18 points and 8 rebounds per game. The big 3 for the Thunder will need all the help they can get the bench players need to step up such as James Harden. The west is not easy competition. Will the Thunder make the playoffs again ?

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are the new uprising team in the NBA. During the offseason they had the most cap room, meaning they had enough the most money to sign big time players. First they aquired Chris Bosh from the Toronto Raptors in the offseason and this season so far is averging 18 points and 8 rebounds a game. Not as good as he did in Toronto with the Raptors but is giving miami a big boost. Then the biggest free agent in NBA history Lebron james, who spent his first 7 years in the NBA they mad the playoffs 5 times in those 7 years Lebron was the key player for the Clevland Cavaliers. On the last day of free agency Lebron decided to take his talents to south beach to join Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. The league started to wonder will Miami win it all for many years to come ? Lebron james brought the Cavaliers to the finals in 2007 but fell short to the San Antonio Spurs. Every year after that the Cavs made it deep in the playoffs but always lost so Lebron decided to join the all stars D wade and Bosh. Lebron is putting up pretty much the same numbers he did in Clevland with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. Dwayne wade the captian of miami he has been there for his whole career and this season is averging 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. This trio is deadly and are on a roll winning thier last 8 games. Can the heat be stopped ?

New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are known the past few years to be a stuggling team winning on avergade for the past five years 20 games per season. This season that's all changed. After aquiring the 5 time all star Amare Stoudemire from the Phoniex Suns during the offseason Amare has done nothing but dominate so far this season. Amare has already broken the knicks franchise record with 8 straight 30 + point games, Also a knicks season high 8 straight wins. Amare has boosted this young knicks who for the past five years were just horrible. Amare is stuffing the stat sheet, averging just inder 28 points and 10 rebounds a game, but he has been on a roll with 8 games in a row scoring more then 30+ points and helping the knicks win close games. The knicks also got Raymond Felton from Charlotte in the offseason to play point gaurd, and he has been impressive sunday against Denver Felton dropped a season high in assists with 17. He is averging 18 points with 9 assists. The knicks might make the playoffs for the first time in a long time. We can't forget about the hero Wilson Chandler who hit the game winning 3 in New York against Denver. Chandler is putting up some big time number with 17 points and 6 rebounds per game. The knicks have been on a roll these past 12 games loosing only 3 out of the 12. Can the knicks keep rolling to make a playoff appearence for the first time in over 5 years ?

Dallas Mavericks

The dallas mavericks are an elite and playoff contenders. Dallas is curently on a 11 game winning streak they are rolling thanks to thier all stars Dirk Novitzki and Caron Butler. This 11 game winning streak hasnt come easy for the mavericks going against the best team in the league, the spurs who are currently 18-3 top seeded team in the western conferance. This season the mavericks look to be at the top of the west, but that wont be easy. Come playoff time the mavericks always seem to struggle. After aquiring the former all star Caron butler can the mavericks make it to the top ? The former MVP dirk is filling the stat sheet this season with very impressive numbers. Averging a season high in points at 25 a game, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, the former MVP is showing his skills this season and potenially could win the MVP award once again. Now for Caron butler is putting great numbers for the mavericks. 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assits thats exactly what the mavericks need to get to the top of the western conference. Coming off the bench for the mavericks is former 6th man of the year Jason Terry. A player who has always been consistent for the mavericks, and he is still rolling averging 16 points, 5 assits and 3 rebounds a game off the bench. Terry could aslo win his second 6th man award if he keeps these numbers up and his a key player for the mavericks. Jason Kidd the point gaurd for dallas also plays a huge roll for the team averging just around 10 points, 9 assist, and 3 rebounds. The dallas mavericks look to take over the western conference with thier winning ways.

Chicago Bulls

The young Chicago bulls who are a soild start to start off the season right now at 12 wins and 8 losses. Thier previous two match-ups were not easy, going up against the very young and talentted Oklahoma city thunder with a 99-90 win thanks to the superstar point gaurd Derrick Rose. Last night they also deafeated the Clevland cavaliers in a tough game. Chicago is on a good path right now to make it to thier third straight playoff apearence. in 2009 they lost in the first round to the boston celtics, and last season getting knocked out of the playoffs by the clevland cavaliers which was led by the superstar lebron james, who is now in miami. The Chicago have a very good chance of making to the playoffs if they continue thier winning ways and if they do they will make it passed the second round in the playoffs. The elite point gaurd derrick rose is carrying this team. He is averging some crazy stats this season, with 26 points , 4 rebounds , and 9 assists, derrick has really shown what he is capable of this season. Bulls are also getting help from the young Luol Deng who is averging 18 points, and 7 rebounds a game. Then there is Jokim noah who is averging 15 points and 13 rebounds a game, thats very solid prduction for the young Chicago bulls. Carlos boozer the 5 time all star has been injured since the preseason for the bulls after being aquired in the offseason from utah. He will put up big time numbers when he gets back the league needs to watch out the the electrifying young bulls team.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are a team who have 17 NBA championships that is the most in the nba today. In the off season of 2007 Celtics general manager Danny Ainge made a couple moves that would return the Celtics to a champion. And he did just that by picking up Kevin Garnett from the Timberwolves, and Ray Allen from the Supersonics. Boston would have an amazing regular season, and complete the largest single-season improvment in NBA history, finishing with the best record in the league at 66 wins and 16 losses, winning 42 more games then last season. Winning the NBA championship in 2008 by deafeating Kobe Bryant and the Lakers 4 games to 2. Last season the Lakers got thier revenge in the 2010 finals by beating the Celtics in the finals 4 games to 3. Kobe Bryant was named finals MVP for the second straight season, last season beating the Orlando Magics 4 games to 1. This season the Boston Celtics start off the season with the record of 10-4. The big 3 Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen these are thier stats this season threw 14 games. Ray Allen is averging 17 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Kevin Garnett is averging 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists a game. Finally the captian of the Celtics Paul Pierce is averging 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assits per game. We can't forget about the elite point guard that the Celtics have in Rajon Rondo. Rondo is averging 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 14 assists per game. Can the Celtics make it to the finals this season to make it two staright seasons ? We will find out come playoff time.

The San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio spurs are a team who in the last ten years have won 3 NBA championships courtesy of perhaps the best power foward of all time Tim duncan, elite point guard Tony parker, and one of the best sixith men in the league in Manu ginobli. In 1997-98 season the start of a championship era begun for the spurs, Tim duncan quickly improved his low post game averaging 21 points, 12 rebounds per game as a power forward for the spurs. Tim duncan was also named first team all-NBA while winning rookie of the year in his first year in the league. The team's record was 56 wins and 26 losses, breaking their own franchise record in 1989–90 for the biggest single season improvement for wins, but yet again they fall to the jazz in the western conference semi-finals in 1998. Then went on to win 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007. In 1999 Tim duncan won the finals most valuble player award, He also won the finals mvp in 2003. In 2007 Tony parker won the finals mvp when the deafeated the clevland cavaliers 4 games to 0. Now in 2010 to start off the seaon the spurs have the best record in the league at 12-1. The big 3, Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are each averging, Dunca is averging 14 points, and 9 rebounds. Parker is averging 20 points and 9 assists. And for Ginobli he's averging 21 points, and 5 assists. So maybe the spurs and Tim duncan are in a championship era season and for tim duncan his race for his fifth NBA championship if he gets his fifth title he might go down as the best power foward of all time.

The Los Angeles Lakers !

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team who in the past 10 years have won 5 NBA championships. All 5 championships have been with Kobe Bryant and Derek fisher who are still with the lakers to this day. Kobe and Fisher are the captains of the team. When adding Pau Gasol to the lakers three years ago they made it to the finals all three years and two of those three years resulted in NBA championships and two NBA finals MVP for Kobe. Coach Phil Jackson has 12 NBA championships six with Jordan and six with Kobe. This season Kobe`s averging 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assits per game. The second best player on the Lakers and arguably the best big man in the league is averging 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assits per game. Lamar odom after his USA team olympic experience made him a much improved player and is giving the lakers a big boost this season, averging 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assits per game. The lakers are 10-2 to start the season, they went 8-0 untill suffering thier first loss to the Denver nuggets last week. I think the lakers will win this years NBA championship and make it 3 years in a row.
