Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies havnt been the best team and not the worst team they kinda have been neutral ever since loosing Pau Gasol , but thats not problem because in 2007 they drafted his younger brother Marc to Memphis. Memphis is currently on a three game winning streak beating teams like Washington and Orlando. They are currently sitting in 9th place, with a team full of young and athletic players like Rudy Gay and O.J Mayo. Also have Zach Randolph , Mike Conley who scored 26 points in the last outing against Orlando. Will Memphis make it to the playoffs this season for the first time in five years ? . Rudy is averaging 20 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Marc Gasol is averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds. Oj Mayo is averaging 13 points per game. Zach Randolph is averaging 20 points and 14 rebounds per game. And for the point guard Mike Conley he is averaging 13 points and 7 assists per game . The Grizzlies have won some big game this season and they also lost some very important close games by margins of 3-8 points. They are now 25 - 24 half way through the season will they start to win those close games and get the wins they need to make into this years playoffs or will they fall short like the last four years ?

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are a playoff caliber team , for the last 3 season they made it to the playoffs , but only one of those three have they passed by the first round. So far this season they are 29-17 and currently sitting in 5th place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks are a team filled with young and athletic players such as Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford and Jamaal Crawford. These four players are all stars they are the four guys who will bring the Hawks to the top of the Eastern Conference. Joe Johnson is averaging 20 points 4 rebounds and 5 assists per game , he will also be in this years all star game February 20th in Dallas. Josh Smith is averaging 16 points 9 rebounds 4 assists and 2 blocks per game . Al Horford is averaging a career best both in points and in rebounds this season with 16 points 10 rebounds and 4 assists per game , Horford could be in this years all star game. Jamaal Crawford who last season who 6th man of the year coming off the bench for the Hawks is averaging off the bench 16 points 2 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the Hawks. Will the Hawks continue their winning ways and make back to the playoffs for the 4th season in a row ? or will they fall short, or will they make it but not make it past the first round ? Will have to wait and see come playoff time. We also cant forget about Mike Bibby the point guard for the Hawks and Marvin Williams.

Phoenix Suns

After loosing Amare Stoudemire last season during the off season , the Suns have been struggling this season.
The star point guard Steve Nash does not have a go to man. When Amare was around they mostly played a two man game with the pick and roll. This season Nash has not found his go to man right now their recond is 20-24 and sitting 11th in the western conference. Earlier this season a huge three team deal went down in the nba featuring Washington , Orlando and Phoenix. The Suns recived Vince Carter and Marcin Gortat in trade for Jason Richardson. Even with this trade the Suns have still been struggling we all thought Vince Carter would make a difference, for now he has not made a change for the Suns. Last season the Suns made it to the Western Conference finals against the Lakers but unfortunately they lost that series 4-2. Now their are rumor trades on Nash being traded away from Phoenix, there is 27 days left untill the trade deadline will they trade away Nash or will he stay and help get the Suns back on top of the west once again. Nash this season is averaging 17 points 4 rebounds and 11 assists per game , and for Vince Carter he is also averaging 15 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game. The Suns could make it to the top they just need some players to set up such as Channing Frye and Jarred Dudley.

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz who are a solid team in the western conference , they also have been in the playoffs for the past couple years in a row in both years they fell short to the Lakers both years, first year loosing the series 4-1 and last season being swept 4-0. After falling short to the not so good Philadelphia 76ers last night the Jazz have a rough and not easy two games ahead , going up against the two best teams in the Western Conference The Los Angles Lakers and The San Antonio Spurs . Those two teams are arguably the two best teams in the NBA. Superstar point guard Derron Williams who is arguably the best point guard in the league along with Derrick Rose is having a amazing season. Also for Utah maybe the leagues most improved player Paul Milsap he is having a phenomenal season. Williams is averaging 22 points 4 rebounds and 10 assists per game. Paul Milsap is averaging a career best 17 points and 8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Also for Utah Anderi Kerilinko is having a huge season averaging 11 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game. The Jazz are currently sitting in 5th place in the western conference. Will they make the playoffs and make it passed the first round ? We have to wait and see come playoff time.

New Orleans Hornets

The young and uprising New Orleans Hornets are currently on a eight game winning streak, thanks for superstar elite point guard Chris Paul and fellow teammates, Trevor Ariza and David West. The hornets got a huge and impressive win over the leagues best team , The San Antonio Spurs on January 22nd the hornets are rolling a want to get a playoff berth, since they fell short last season due to injury on their superstar Chris Paul. But this season Chris has been nothing but amazing , this season he is averaging 17 points 5 rebounds and 10 assists per game. Fellow teammates Trevor ariza  is also averaging 11 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists per game . David west is averaging 19 points 8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He is the leading scorer for the New Orleans Hornets. Not to forget their all star center Emeka Okafor who is averaging a career best 11 points and 11 rebounds per game thats impressive if you ask me . Two seasons ago the Hornets made it to the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets the Hornets suffered the worst lose in playoff history losing by 68 points. This season the Hornets look to get back to the playoffs and do some damage because right now they are rolling with their eight game winning streak and they are looking to extend that streak.

 

Orlando Magics

The Orlando Magics have been an elite team in the Eastern Conference for the past 3 years , in 2009 they beat the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2 and went on to face the Lakers in the 2009 NBA Finals. Unfortunately the Orlando Magics failed to beat the Lakers , Lakers won the series 4-1. After a tough loss in the finals the Magic traded a key player , and it was Hedo Turkgulo who was a huge factor in the playoffs and helped them get to the finals. He got traded to Toronto and he really struggled and didnt fit there , so this season he was traded to the Suns and he also didnt fit there. Earlier this season a huge 3 team trade went down involving the Magics they got back Hedo and also got Gilbert arenas the superstar from Washington and Jason Richardson from Phoenix but the Magics had to trade away Rashard Lewis and he went to Washington. Now with the Magic having all these superstars including the beast Dwight Howard will they make it back to the finals ? Hedo this season back in Orlando is averaging 11 points and 4 rebounds. Gilbert is averging 15 points 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Jason is averaging 18 points and 5 rebounds. Dwight Howard the beast is averaging 21 points and 14 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. Will the Magics get back to the top of the eastern conference this year ? 

Denver Nuggets

The denver Nuggets have been an elite team in the western conference for the past 3 years sinnce aquiring Chauncey Billups in 2006 from the detroit pistons. The denver nuggets have not been consistant this season , two years ago they made it to the western conferance finals but failed to beat the Lakers , Lakers won the series 4-2. With rumours going around this season that thier superstar Carmelo Anthony wants to get traded to a new team the coaching staff had some concerns but melo didn`t let them down with his performance on the court he is still playing at that top level. Carmelo wanted to one of two teams and those teams were New jersey to join devin harris the all star , or to New York and join the beast Amare Stoudimire. With only 48 days left untill the trade deadline will carmelo stay or will he join a new team ? The leading scorers for the nuggets are Carmelo and Chauncey and JR Smith. Carmelo is averging 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Chauncey is averging, 17 points 3 rebounds and 5 assists per game. And the young explosive offence of JR smith is averging 13 points , 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Will Carmelo stay with denver and take them back to the top ?
